Last Saturday April 21 I attended the Iberet-Active MultiSport 101 Camp Running clinic at Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig city. There are two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I attended the afternoon class. This is my second year attending the free class organized by MultiSport and Iberet-Active. To know more about my previous posts in MultiSport clinics last year you may go
here and
here.
This 101 Camp is a series of classes about Running, Biking and Swimming, three sports in Triathlon. Last year the classes are free for all but now only subscribers of MultiSport magazine can attend the seminar for free. The management said that a subscriber can bring one non-subscriber but he/she won't be included in raffles.
Early bird registrants will have a free singlet but only for subscribers. Like last year, the running clinic have the sponsor's booth. The present sponsors in the activity area were Asics, L Time Studio and Iberet. There's also a picture booth by Baicapture that you can have a printed picture of yourself with a magazine theme in the background for free.

The participants were taught by coach Jojo Macalintal, one of the premium triathlon coaches in the Philippines. He taught us that static stretching before running is a big no-no so a dynamic stretching is recommended before doing your workout or training. There are three parts of the training that he taught us - dynamic stretching, drills and workout.

He also taught us the proper breathing while running which is the 1-2-3-4 count. You count on your mind at the same time a foot will strike the ground, you will inhale at 1-2-3 count and exhale at the 4th count. After the training we ran around the block for proper twice. The first 30 persons that finished the second run got a multivitamin pack from Iberet and your truly is one of them.

After the run coach Jojo taught some static stretching and afterwards the organizers gave us free foods and drinks. After the running clinic, Asics gave us some information about the history of Asics. The last but not the least was the giveaways and raffles. There are 10 giveaways from MultiSport and Iberet but before you can get the giveaway you have to answer correctly the question prepared by Iberet. One of the major prizes in the raffle is a sports watch from L Time Studio and a JanSport bag.

I enjoyed and learned a lot from attending the running clinic and will definitely attend their second running clinic. Their next event will be biking on May 12, 2012 at BHS. The participants should bring their own bike because they will bike around the block just like the running clinic. If you have questions you may contact them in their Facebook page
here.
